I went to a Starbucks

In this branch they have a sign stating that 99% of their coffee is ethically sourced.

Am i weird for thinking that therefore 1% of their coffee is unethically sourced, perhaps grown with slave labour or stolen from subsistence farmers? 馃ぃ馃ぃ

It's possible that they simply can't be sure of the provenance of all the coffee they buy. I dare say that some of it is bought from brokers rather than direct from the farmers and some of the brokers are not 100% reliable when it comes to the audit trail.

Perhaps they are just being more honest than those who claim 100% ethically sourced.

But in my opinion the real question is this: Why did you go to Starbucks in the first place? The only time I go to Starbucks is when I am in the company of people who think that they have to eat and drink all the time and Starbucks is the only place nearby. If I can plan where to go there is always somewhere better.

@ninalanyon I wasn't paying so.... I had a peach iced tea. I'm not really a coffee drinker.
