I think it's also called rum....😉

Interesting what all the whole plant juice can do. White sugar has the vitamins & minerals stripped out of it. The residue from processing it is called Blackstrap Molasses and is a good source of minerals, especially iron. I have used it to sweeten my coffee.

Sounds so counter intuitive to these posted benefits.

@cherokeepatti Seems unlikely it would help diabetes.
Always drink the freshly extracted one.
Never store in plastic.

I drank it right away after the juice was made @Lyfis2live

How do you go about making it?
scorpiolovedeep · 51-55, M
There is a machine which crushes the cane.
Juice is separated from the fibre / stem part which is used for cattle fodder.

I didn't know you could get sugar cane juice without cutting and peeling the cane so you could chew the good stuff. Another childhood tradition vanishes!

I’d love to know how it’s helpful for people with diabetes.

@bijouxbroussard One of my gripes for years has been that an awful lot of "healthy, natural, organic snacks" are loaded with incredible amounts of sugar.
bijouxbroussard · F
@DrWatson Yes, I noticed that too, when I had to cut back.
