Soda, plain and simple. Coca-Cola, or also known as Coke, is a soda.
Like, if you buy a Sprite, do you call it coke, or Sprite? I call it Sprite, and it's a soda. If I buy a Pepsi, that is a soda I just bought and it's called Pepsi. Here, there are Coke products and Pepsi products. So, Coca-Cola, Sprite, Dr. Pepper, and Fanta are Coke products. Pepsi, Mtn. Dew, Gatorade, Tropicana and Aquafina are all Pepsi products.

Good point. When 'Velcro' came on the scene they captured the market, but they're really 'hook and loop fasteners '. When you talk to people, they say velcro, no one calls them hook and loop fasteners. Likewise, when Coca Cola took the market in my region people just called soft drinks 'coke', and it stuck. Kinda like velcro, pun intended. Go figure.
