Ever have Soup Explode in the Microwave?

I was heating up a bowl of clam chowder in the micro, covered with a paper plate, like I've done more times than I can count. Suddenly it goes *POOF* popping off the plate and spewing clam chowder all over the inside of the microwave. After cleaning up the mess I heated what was left in a kettle on the stove. WTF?

I got rid of the microwave many years ago. I was tired of seeing a big mess every time others got done with it. Gave the damn thing away and haven't missed it! lol
I have a nice counter top appliance that will bake, steam, make rice, etc... and many times, I will loosely cover my food and set the appliance to steam. So much nicer than a microwave that kills food. :)
@SW-User It seems like some are looking for alternatives, and I agree, a micro isn't exactly an appliance that can be used for cooking in a conventional sense. I'm intrigued by your appliance, may I ask what model?

It was a bit expensive but worth it! You can probably find something cheaper but on the same idea. It was what hit me as perfect for here to make whole meals and more. :) I found it a bonus that the inside was also stainless. No coating wearing off and easy to keep clean.
