Ever have Soup Explode in the Microwave?

I was heating up a bowl of clam chowder in the micro, covered with a paper plate, like I've done more times than I can count. Suddenly it goes *POOF* popping off the plate and spewing clam chowder all over the inside of the microwave. After cleaning up the mess I heated what was left in a kettle on the stove. WTF?

Yeah…my son loved clam chowder, and this has happened a few times. It’s the clams…

Best reheat it with a lid or on stove.

@Vivaci When I was younger that happened to me, the soup exploded all over the microwave, I stopped it. I opened it and the soup went pop all over me too!

@Vivaci I was wondering if it could be the clams. It was surprising, I know I've heated clam chowder in the micro before. This was a new brand tho.
