You know -- look in the fridge and on the shelves, see what you have -- often leftovers -- and then just think, "Hmm, I THINK that will go good with that, and maybe a little of this and a little of that" and you just make it up as you go along and come up with a meal that has no actual name...

@Punxi Never tried that -- but it reminds of college and "Purple Passion Punch" -- every fraternity member chose his favorite liquor, then the night of the party: Take one large -- and clean -- metal garbage can. Add in bottles of fruit juice, ginger ale, ice, and every bottle of liquor the brothers chose. Mix well. When done right you don;t even taste the alcohol, but it carries one helluva a kick and the stains will NOT come out of your clothes. Heck, it was even hard to wash off your skin.
