Have you ever been so poor you ate food out of the garbage?

I have and did that quite a bit 2 years ago. I would take half eaten bags of chips out of the trash. A coworker threw a takeout box with uneaten takeout in it away. When nobody was looking I took it out of the trash and enjoyed the 2 steak tacos that were left.

No. though I wasn't far from it. When I left school I was squatting in a disused flat, all the furniture I had in there I got from skip bins. And there was a place an hour away that sold vegetables and fruit that was rejected by the supermarkets at a $5 a trolley full.
