I just saw a commercial that said the Wendy’s fries were preferred 2-1 over McDonalds. I actually prefer McD’s (fries) over Wendy’s The fries at Wingstop are my favorite though

As a kid, when we went to town, the VFW (daddy was a veteran) ran a cafe there and they made the best crinkle cut fries and grilled cheese.

@TexChik MMMMMMMM grilled cheese. I used to love those but haven't had one since I don't know when. Mother made them when we had soup. You mentioning them made me want one.

There is a brew pub in Duluth, MN, that serves the most fantastic sweet potato fries.

Of the burger chains, my favorite for fries is Five Guys.

But the ones I make at at home are pretty darned good too!

Five Guys has the best fries in the country. They hand select crops of potatoes based on taste, and they don't always buy from the same farmers. They use a special type of frying oil, and they serve the fries in paper bags, overflowing their cardboard containers, to soak up the excess oil.

I've never had fries that good. They taste like homemade fries, but better!

i'm not a fan of fries or chips, but the regular kind from 5 Guys are okay. i'll eat a few of anyone's who orders them at the table. they give you one million of them, so it's okay

@Piper We don't have those by us, but I know I have seen them as I have travelled. Off hand, I am not even sure whether I have ever eaten at one or not!

I legitimately never thought about the origin of fries. I just order them sometimes.
If I had to pick a fave it would be the microwave variety prepared in a far too oiled pan.
