Who can really cook? Who can cook real food, not stuff prepackaged or in a box? (No Kraft Mac N Cheese or Stouffer鈥檚 lasagna). Or you know, that pre-made stuff you buy and heat up from the grocery store 馃槀

Yes, I can cook. Your list is rather southern US oriented. No, I've never made "biscuits" but I've made popovers. I've cooked chicken multiple ways, but never fried a whole one. I honestly don't know what a "a pot roast with all the veggies" is, but I've roasted various cuts of beef & pork. My potatoes are au gratin, not scalloped; sorry. Never a jello salad, I'm proud to say. I've cooked plenty of vegetables, some of them green. Is that the same as "a pot of greens?" How are dumplings different from biscuits? I've cooked "slow" oatmeal, but never grits.

Chocolate cake with chocolate icing from scratch (24 oz of dark chocolate total) from my mom's recipe is one of my specialties. Apple pies from scratch are another of my specialties - I use a mix of braeburn & cortland. So is chili from scratch. So is home made lasagne with sausage & artichoke hearts. We do a home made deep dish pizza in a cast iron pan. I've grilled, roasted, and pan fried various vegetables; pan fried asparagus is one of my specialties.

I've never made fudge, but I know how to temper real chocolate, and I've made chocolate covered fresh blueberries and chocolate covered fresh raspberries - they need to be eaten within about 12 hours of making. I've made chocolate souffle. I've made ice cream from scratch with a hand crank mixer while adding rock salt to the ice bath. I've lived in a couple houses without dishwashers, but not in decades.

I've also grilled swordfish, baked salmon, and pan fried sole and bluefish and tuna and bass. I've cooked scallops and mussels and oyster stew. I've cooked lobster and shrimp in various ways. I've cooked both omelettes and frittatas.

@ElwoodBlues yes you鈥檙e right about it bring southern us oriented. I changed cornbread to bread. I don鈥檛 really know what exactly is meant by greens. Most Canadians have never had grits
