Spatzle are something like homemade pasta, made from a dough consisting of flour, water, eggs and salt. What distinguishes them from conventional pasta is the way they get their shape. Traditionally, the dough is scraped from a wooden board into a pot of boiling water. On the video you can see how this is done.

There are different, easier ways to make spaetzle, for example pressing the dough through a sieve. @RadiantRose
