Nearly EVERY WAY!

I can go through 4 eggs a day ...I never get sick of them .

I made a dozen devilled eggs a few weeks back, and ate them all in three days.😆

My favourites are hard boiled , usually by themselves for breakfast or in a salad , or smooshed with Mayo in a sammich🤩(may be my kryptonite).

Or fried, sunny side up, still a little gooey, to run over my bacon and toast.(over easy if I'm impatient)

I love ❤️ them too @OogieBoogie

@OogieBoogie you're speaking my language

@OogieBoogie oh yes, a little runny on the toast is perfect. :)

I wish I could eat 4 eggs a day. I only allow 2 whole eggs per week, and the rest, I’ll have 3 egg whites. Are you not concerned about the high cholesterol? @OogieBoogie

When I was in early 20s , I used to eat eggs everyday.

And on long weekends, made
Egg Biryani

That’s looks delicious. @scorpiolovedeep

I think with age , we eat less anyways.

Down to 3/4 eggs a week now.

I could easily eat 2000-2,200 calories a day, if I gave myself free rein. Age has only curbed my appetite for certain foods. @scorpiolovedeep
@scorpiolovedeep that looks really yummy.

The last few years ive tried to allow myself to eat what I deeply crave.

All these things they say you shouldn't: lots of eggs, meat, fatty meat , full cream milk, cheeeeeeze(😋).

And its been the wierdest thing.
Physical issues i had like tiredness , lack of sleep, nerve and muscle pain, anxiety...list goes on...

...have actually gotten so much better .

So I started looking up food as medicine, and its blown me away!

Im now convinced some aliments people have are from bad diets... lack of nutrition, gut aggravation, slow starving or damage to our digestive bacteria.

I even have better mental health and clarity all due to changing my diet.

And eggs are little power bombs of nutrition: if they had fibre and citric acid they'd nearly be a complete food .

Don't get me wrong...I still like my booze and fish and chips.

But good eating has changed my life. And I don't mean salads and crap, I mean meats and fats and all those supposedly BAD things.

Now I just mostly avoid simple carbs.
aldnazmeister · 56-60, M
@OogieBoogie you had to mention fish and chips didn't you?
I love getting fresh fish and chips when I go to the coast each year.
It will either be Cod or Halibut. Although Rock Fish make a good fish taco.
Carissimi · F
I love fish n’ chips. Are you English. I only eat them once every few years because I’d have to go to a restaurant for them, and they don’t have chip shops in the States. @OogieBoogie
scorpiolovedeep · 46-50, M
Good girl !!

Yes , it’s better physical health and mental health which will power your day and confidence.

That’s why I mix and match everyday ..
Can’t eat the same stuff every second day … a good variety is a must for me.

Oh yum .. I miss fish and chups from NZ
❤️

@OogieBoogie
Carissimi · F
Are you English too? @aldnazmeister
aldnazmeister · 56-60, M
@Carissimi I am half English from my mother's side of the family.
My dad actually lives on the Oregon coast. We go down to Bandon, Oregon and visit this little place called the Fish Shack. It has about 5 tables inside and is always packed. There are tables on the outside, but if it is windy then just sit in your car.
Carissimi · F
It sounds quaint. I wish they had chip shops in the States. @aldnazmeister
@Carissimi I've found that choice of food becomes essential .

And I think we can develop allergies or intolerances if our diet hasn't been that good thru our lives .

I used to barely eat meat, ate a lot of grains and root vegetables, and nearly free range on sugar.

And I think I started paying for it .

I think part of my emotional or mental issues actually came from nutritional deficiencies.

Two years ago I was going through more than a dozen eggs a week....and still craved them .

But over that year, so many issues that bugged me, reduced or left completely.

Now this was an unconscious thing, I just found i couldn't get enough of eggs and bacon 😁

But late last year I started educating myself again on nutrition .

And so much has changed!

And during that learning curve I came across vitamin B deficiency. Now it ls bad to self diagnose, but I did notice i used to suffer from nearly everything it listed ...and now barely at all.

I think we really do need to listen to what our body needs.

It becomes more important as we age ...you just can fill up on junk, and expect your body to function properly .

It’s fantastic to hear that you have improvised your diet and thereby being yourself more as a person ….love a good positive story

aldnazmeister · 56-60, M
@Carissimi I am confused when you say that you wish they had chip shops in the states. 🤔
Granted inland fish and chip places usually have frozen fish instead of fresh fish, but they do exist.
Carissimi · F
I don’t eat junk food, but I’ve found that even so called healthy foods come with a price. I didn’t know my veggie burger and my egg whites were so full of sodium until my BP went up, and you think you are eating low sugar, but even one apple or a banana takes you over your daily limit. I track all my micronutrients everyday, and I do get tired of having to juggle what food I can eat on any given day. @OogieBoogie
Carissimi · F
@OogieBoogie I wish I could eat like you. It would be so freeing.
Carissimi · F
@aldnazmeister I’ve never seen a chip shop in the US. Where did you see one?
aldnazmeister · 56-60, M
@Carissimi if you are talking Fish & Chips we have them here in Idaho. Plenty of restaurants serve it.
If you are talking just chips we have a place called Boise Fry Company. I am not certain about other states.
@Carissimi No, I'm not concerned about the cholesterol .

Ive been on a massive learning curve the past 6 months.

WARNING: this became way longer than intended 😁

The stories around about cholesterol have found to be VERY wrong due to new understanding, and discovery of old trial results that were hidden .

In a simplistic nutshell:

Surgeons associated cholesterol with blocked arteries because they were finding it in patients during surgery for heart disease.

So they made the assumption that the cholesterol was part of the problem .

Now they are finding out that the cholesterol deposits are the bodies response to try to mend damaged arteries.

Cholesterol is used by the body for hormone production, plasma cell walls , vitamin d synthesis, amongst other things.
Its essential to many bodily functions.

So much is changing about nutrition and how the body uses the food we eat.

Even learning to feed our microbiome (gut bacteria) is highly important.

In fact , the studies done on saturated fats decades ago, were botched badly.

They are now finding that it wasnt fats that were the poison ....it was sugar .

But when so many FDA studies are funded by the sugar cane industry, and the wheat industry, do you think they will allow adverse information out about their own products ?

In fact, in of some the studies done, some results were just shelved, because the results were contradictory to what they expected .

I wish I could give you all the resource info to prove all this , but it was a wild journey of discovery for me, only meant to be for me .

But the deeper I got....tje more stunned and amazed I became , that more than half of the information we grew up with - is bogus !

I have fixed fatigue, debilitating depression, forgetfulness, insomnia, reduced muscle and nerve pain, anxiety, headaches, tingling in my extremities, indigestion, Gerd, (severe almost constant daily acid reflux)....the list is still ongoing 😂...with just feeing my body what it needs, getting rid of inflammatory foods .

I've stopped all medication, and can honestly say that good natural food, increasing my good fats and proteins, and eliminating simple carbs has done more for my health , than all my medication ever did .

It has freaked me out ...blown me away .

And I don't know why this new information coming out isn't at the forefront of the news!

Doctors are proving you can cure diabetes (or at least eliminate any evidence of it) ....with just eating the right way .

And I've tested it .

Every now and then I will eat the way I used to .

And no joke ...some of my symptoms come back within hours, some take a few days .

So no ....I'm not scared of my cholesterol levels.
The body actualky needs it.
@Carissimi I'm Australian.

Every suburb has a fish and chip shop .

I don't eat chips really any more ....but I do love my battered flathead.
Its a treat now and then .

And my eating is fad-like.

One week it'll be eggs , the next it'll be pumpkin or pistachios or something.

Plus...😁...I'm a little chunky right now 😜

But my focus is nutrition, weight can be fixed after that .

Too many years I starved myself on salads and avoided butter .Ate cornflakes to fend off cravings.

Now, supplied with nutrition...I can go a day (sometimes even two) without eating at all ....I just crave anymore .

And intermittent fasting in itself is a healing time for the gut, and increases mental acuity.

I eat once a day when I'm not cooking up stuff.
Ferric67 · M
@OogieBoogie I've eaten up to 10 eggs in a day
