How do you season pinto beans?

I have made beans quite a few times but no matter how much I've put different types of seasoning like garlic powder, onion powder, chilli powder, etc they still come out bland. Let me know how you season it and measurements?

Forget the powders and add the real thing. Garlic, onions, etc. And hot sauce.

@carpediem I did this and there is a big difference. It came out good. I also put a little taco seasoning. Thanks
