If a late Breakfast/early Lunch is called Brunch.....

Is a late Lunch/early Dinner called Lunner?
Let's Go Have Lunner sounds too weird.
Any Suggestions?

I've always called it Linner.

Early dinner is called the Senior discount special at the local Golden Corral buffets. That is the slowest part of the day so they offer a discount to get business and make use of the tables till the regular dinner crowd starts filing in.

Dinch? Dunch? Ludin? or just afternoon tea

@meJess Good suggestions. Would that be Devonshire Tea? With Scoanes and Jammy Cream

@Gusman All proper tea is theft, and there are no tea plants in Devon :)

been saying that since I was a kid

@maturedragon Truly? I'd never had thought it was used as a word to describe this

@Lilymoon Hmmmm....is it time for Dinch yet?🤔
This just made look it up.

So..

Tea is an early dinner .

Then there's Dinner (at the usual time )

and Supper, is a late dinner .

I never knew this, I always wondered why people called the evening meal by differnt names .

I always thought supper was an late snack.
@Gusman hahahaha.

Yeah. Also....when they say dinner ,you automatically think, "crap - do I have to put long pants on and brush my hair for this?"

@OogieBoogie I know, sounded so formal, Dinner
Anyways, no Brunch for me, Breakfast time 🍳🥓🍵
@Gusman I really like brunch .

I'm not much of a breakfast person...food in a meal size slows me down.
So brunch od the weekends is just luxury 😊
I have contemplated tjis too for most of my life .
Why is there not a word for it yet?

Maybe it's afternoon tea? But that always sounds like a.snack , not a meal .
