I think the Salvation army has an emergency assistance food program for people who just can't get food, but you have to apply in advance.

@4meAndyou We are fine personally but I do feel for the people on unemployment since March 16 and haven’t received a penny. I think our state had over 600,000 claims and they are just stuck in a very old system and they don’t have enough people to process the claims fast enough. Some people think they are ok and then you claim the next week because there is a problem. It’s sad, the whole world is suffering because of this virus. :(

@Keepitsimple What I heard was they crashed the system. Too many callers all at once...blue screen of system death...server overload.

Most people save enough money to get by for one month...and most people can even last for two months if they eat all the food in their house. But I know that I have been trying not to go out since I started hearing about this stuff at the end of January. I am still okay...but I have a nosebleed from the price gouging ordering canned and dried foods online.

@4meAndyou it’s an old system that some states use still (our computers are 60 years old) they are begging for help from those that know that language but I have a hunch somebody’s gone blow up Trenton before the help arrives.
