Anyone tried snail before?

My girlfriend wants me to try snail, anyone else tried it? What's it taste like?

I tried escargot some years ago. They tasted okay, were cooked with parsley and butter. I was lucky that they were cooked well, because I understand they can be chewy if overcooked, which would not be very pleasant.
