Sunday chicken used to be a thing. Baked fried or broiled.

Varies by location and family. In the south east a fried chicken dinner isn't uncommon

@Callmewhatyouwill Thank you. Yeah, you're the 3rd person to say that. I had never heard of it before.
@annamk it's pretty good if done right

Used to be a homemade fried chicken dinner where I lived. But even then we would have something else once in a while.

I see roast beef, potatoes, peas, and corn. What's the other stuff?

@annamk I need to meet your flatmate.

@quitwhendone Right? She's amazing. I gained 13lbs since we lived together

@annamk If she cooks like that all the time, I want to ask her out.

@luctoretemergo None, just having a cup of tea. It's Sunday evening here and also I am much much too full for anything that would make me bloated 😂

I had a Sunday roast today. With Rice-o-Roni and mixed veggies.

The plate is a bit over-crowded and poorly arranged. Presentation: C-

We would have a Sunday roast when I was growing up. Mom would cook a roast beef or chicken with all the trimmings. We don't do that any more.

America tends to stick to the four basic food groups: McDonalds, Wendy’s, Burger King and Taco Bell.
I think it would vary. Where i went to school, they would do fried chicken every sunday.

It tends to be an individual thing, but many families have Sunday dinner together, with roast or fried chicken. My family did when I was growing up, usually a few hours after returning from Sunday mass. It was the one day of the week everyone’s schedule fit. We still occasionally get together, but my middle sister and I will cook so Mom and Dad don’t feel they have to.
