@Mamapolo2016 One thing about growing up in California, a neighbor’s grandmother would send me home with a bag of chicken tamales after my sister and I played with the children.

When I was growing up in rural Pennsylvania, nobody I knew had ever heard of tamales.

I was 16 when the first pizza joint opened. @bijouxbroussard

But yeah it's the diminutive of donkey...

@DDonde just learned now it's called like that cause the part that is made with flour "tortilla" resembles the ear of a donkey or cause the sellers used to deliver them while selling them in donkeys.... 🤭*historically *
