Eggplant allergy is really rare.
They're a member of the nightshade family, just like potatoes, tomatoes, all peppers, tomatilloes, goji berries, huckleberries, and the spice paprika. Tobacco is a nightshade. All of them cause problems in very sensitive people because they contain alkaloids, and an overdose of alkaloids can be fatal, but you can't overdose eating any of the above. You CAN if you eat green potatoes...the dose of green potatoes is one pound to be fatal.
Tom Brady won't eat ANY nightshade vegetables, because they can make inflammation worse and make your joints stiff.
