I’ve had that happen to me more than I like

That is all you can do. He is a friend. Start looking for more from someone else for other needs, wants and desires.

I had gone through this when I was younger. I had a severe crush on someone that I wanted more than a friendship with. The good news is that we are still the best of lifetime friends. Her children call me Uncle Bob. And her husband and I get along famously. A rare story I realize. But looking back on it all, I am glad that it turned out the way that it did for all parties involved. 😊

Yes with time it will seem like nothing. Consider spending more time here, or doing things you like rather than texting him.

Have you actually communicated that you like him more than a friend? You can make assumptions and over-analyse all you want, but I think if you want to know how he thinks or feels for sure, you need to bring it up and talk like adults.

@maybesomeday I did once. in November. He said he didn't know I had feelings for him, because I always give "don't touch me" vibes. He said it was nice to know someone like me liked it and also seemed ready to take things forward but... I was the one who asked to wait, because I wasn't ready for a commitment yet.
So, it's understandable that he treats me like a friend but.... sometimes I think when he knows my feelings, he would implicitly reciprocate in some way...
