I can cook fairly well, but I've not done a lot of baking (unless you consider baking meats). I've made a couple of cakes in my life time...I made a fruit cake to end all fruitcakes once. I basically made an applesauce cake and added real dried fruits instead of the candied crap that is normally found in them. It was moist and not dry or hard like you'd think of a fruitcake to be. The flavor was exquisite.

@pandainpinktutu I've been wanting to recreate it, but just haven't gotten around to it...maybe this holiday season. I never liked fruitcake (too hard and dry, and I can't stand that candied fruit), I've always loved applesauce cake though so using that as a base I thought there had to be a fruitcake that was actually edible (and tasted good) so I just began experimenting. My wife and I were both very pleased with the result.🤠
