Do you prepare or mix food a certain way you thought normal but people disapprove?

I toast my bread at minimum just to get it crunchy but my entire family disapproves and think I should either toast it until near-burnt or not toast it at all.

I like spaghetti tacos, I think many do but no one in my family does.

I say toast it enough so the butter able to melt.
