Why can’t organic food be cheaper??

bigjohndl · 70-79, M Best Comment
Because they know the millenials will buy it for the prices they show on it. Just like the newest IPhones. Price does not matter to them.

And btw, most of the organic food you buy has actually had pesticide used on it.

@bigjohndl There is nothing 100% organic, the air has pollutants in it that gets in the soil with every rain. The best thing is not to use man-made pesticides and other chemicals on the food and to try to find soil that hasn't had those chemicals in it.

Very very true... if the seeds aint organic then its not organic to begin with...

Our demand for the food to last longer and greed of capitalists is responsible for the rise in the price of organic food. There was a time when food was organic but what did a lot of companies do? They introduced products that were the substitutes of the food that took time to cook and we humans happily accepted their tin-food. Why do county people have better health than people of cities because they do a lot of field work and they eat healthy food i.e. organic food. Spinach grown at a farm and boiled properly is 1000 times better than the spinach in the tin. Are preservatives in the tin-food good for health?...No!...

To be honest, with the advancement and progress in science and technology, we humans became more and more lazy!...For instance; majority of us, come knackered from work and don't have time to cook food. Thus, we rely on tin food!...It's not good at all. We should eat fresh cooked food.

Our ignorance for organic food has made the organic food expensive!...Capitalists are always ready embark on mere commodities and services that would fetch them maximum profit!...Food is a basic necessity and that's why it's not cheaper anymore because even organic food is in their hands!...☺

Supply and demand.

Demand but also the cost of raising it organically. It takes time to pick potato bugs off of potato plants, for example, rather than spray them with pesticide. Organic pesticides are rather pricey too.

Globalism, it looks to enslave and destroy the American middle class. The whole point of globalism is to destroy the US middle class and destroy anybody who is responsible enough to save money.

I agree - sometimes it is like 3 or 4 times as expensive and I'm sorry but we all have budgets to work to

Low yield, plus lots of suckers willing to pay extra for nothing.

it's a scam.

you can't get rich possessing people's minds to buy up crap that's no different than the regular items.
SagePoet · 70-79, M
I sure wish it was cheaper, but organic for me is the way to go

That is simple, because it costs more to grow.
