The festival is a visiting card of Rakhiv district and one of the brightest pages of the cultural life of Transcarpathia. For more than ten years it demonstrates the best achievements and traditions of the Hutsul region: culture, life, crafts and famous hospitality.

Festival-Fair «Hutsul brynza» was founded in 1999. This holiday fully enters our life as a traditional annual result of the revival and development of cattle breeding and sheep breeding in Rakhivshchina in particular. No one can imagine the Carpathian mountains without silky green valleys with flocks of sheep, without the melodies of dreary trimbits, singing whistles, without courageous sheep breeders hardened by hardships and inaccessible mountain paths.

Therefore, today for us sheep breeding is not only one of the traditional and most optimal in high mountainous conditions branches of agriculture, but also a component of the original history, ethnography and culture of Rakhivshchyna. Their revival and development is promoted by our festival, which is held on the initiative and with the material support of district state administrations, council, city, town, settlement, rural territorial self-governing communities.

The first amulet on every green valley for sheep breeders and flocks is Poloninskaya vatra (fire). After the Poloninskaya vatra is lit at the festival «Hutsul brynza», there is a tour of exhibitions — expositions, which are traditionally prepared by territorial communities of settlements of the district.

Interesting and a number of contests, during which their creativity demonstrates kolomiikari, trembitari and whistle players. The festival ends with a mass feast.
