I’m getting through quite a few books 📚 on holiday

My grandfather maintains a good library, and I have a kind of everlasting list of books in his library that I want to read. The last few days I have been reading a book about the rise and fall of Italian fascism (although it should be said that fascism is the Italian brand of authoritarian nationalism that was a dominant political force in Europe during the last century, in Spain it was called Falangism and in Germany it was Nazism)

I have read a biography of Rossano Brazzi and I am hoping to read one other book before the holiday is over. I read by the pool or in the library itself of an evening when Chiara is doing the educational tasks Grandpa sets her. She is quite the polyglot with the things they go through together. I’m pleased that he does exactly with her what he used to do with me at her age! I guess he will be doing the same with my brother’s children.
