Ever sat in a medieval dungeon? [I Love Medieval Architecture]

I like to visit old castles. I was in one up in Northumberland and asked the curator to let me into the old dungeon. It was quite scary to sit in there, even for a few minutes, knowing what sort of fate would await.
If I could only put my ex in one - and his lover. . .

@RubySoo It's a bit disturbing, isn't it? As if the ghosts of all the previous inhabitants are with you.

@OnlyRhonda it felt very oppressive. I kept thinking of all the people who had suffered there. It was a round room in a tower. There was one slit in the wall really high up and that was the only light. There were iron brackets in the walks were chains and shackles had once been attached.
Horrid.
