Anyone who thinks differently can move to another country
Iwillwait · M
@jennyCook Amen!
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@jennyCook Teddy Roosevelt wanted to remove the phrase from all US money because he felt it was blasphemous to equate God and money.
Iwillwait · M
@ChipmunkErnie I look at the phrase as a reminder that we place our Trust/Faith in GOD and not money.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@Iwillwait No reason for it to be on the money anyway except as an expression of Christian dominance.
jennyCook · 22-25, F
@ChipmunkErnie are you really serious? I have a great idea.. don't use the currency create your own and see who accepts it. HOW STUPID
Iwillwait · M
@ChipmunkErnie I disagree.
jennyCook · 22-25, F
@Iwillwait as is your right to your own opinion but if you have a problem with that phrase don't use the money
Iwillwait · M
@jennyCook I love the phrase being on the money, if you read the thread you'll see you're off base. Ernie was responding initially to me and his and my conversation was the last replay.

@jennyCook or we could move all the religious minded people to a particular area.
jennyCook · 22-25, F
@SW-User it would be easier if the idiots who do not like the phrase for them to leave there a far fewer of them. Next book 🔥?
SW-User
@jennyCook it’s more important to keep track of those who do believe.

Too much violence in the name of god.
jennyCook · 22-25, F
@SW-User I agree with that statement but will never agree to remove the phrase from the money
SW-User
@jennyCook it makes no sense.. it was a modern addition.
jennyCook · 22-25, F
@SW-User it's there what is your problem with the phrase? Are you an atheist? This country was founded on the principle if it's a problem for you like I said create your own money and see how far it gets you.
SW-User
@jennyCook it doesn’t matter what I am.

I may have shared this already on this thread:

The first minted coin in the US had the phrase
“Mind your business”

Please remember the anti establishment clause in the constitution.

You are free to believe whatever you want. I am not stopping you.
Yes there was a rise in spiritualism in the 19th century in the US.

While some of the founding “fathers” were Christians.

In all reality, they would not understand the warped views of modern evangelicals.

✌🏼
@SW-User I agree with you. Unless we’re to become a theocracy, which, according to John Adams, was not their intention, keeping church and state as separate as possible seems to me the way to go. Removing a phrase that was added hurriedly while the country thought they were fighting Communism, will not change or interfere with the way anyone worships here.

@bijouxbroussard wanna here the funny part..you atheist don't realize.. haha they will never and I mean never remove that phrase from US Currency. So may you both can create you own Currency and trade amongst yourselves.

My favorite part..when your time comes (GOD forbid) you refuse to acknowledge the Almighty GOD you will find yourself somewhere you would rather not be. Good luck with that.
@jennyCook Except that I’m not an atheist. But thanks for playing, though. Since you’re making assumptions and passing judgment, I’ll assume you’re probably not a Christian.

@bijouxbroussard 😂😂😂
SW-User
@bijouxbroussard I completely agree.
Even more interesting is the growing secularism in young adults.

Faith is a private affair, it has no place in government.
