Money has the tendency to change people for the worse.

How does one go against the flow?
Too little and it hurts.
Too much and it still is never enough.
But have more than others and suddenly, there is distrust and gap with those who have less.
See someone with more and suddenly people treat them like kings and queens.

They say money makes the world go round.
Others call money the root of all evil.
But I think evil exists even before money did.

But now that it's part of our every day lives, how do we live in the right?

I'm a big fan of reorganizing society around deprioritizing wealth. That largely involves heavy investment by governments to use automation and robots to make as many essential goods and services as possible free to access. The idea is to push money into the want category instead of the need.

We are still quite a ways from this, both technologically and with people being in a mindset to embrace it. But i think it would be better for us long term to begin charting our paths to that day.
