Quick Q - if you currently have a mortgage, did you get your loan direct from a bank or via an agent?
I got mine through a bank direct as lending agents that deal with multiple banks on selling loan products kept dicking me around.
I got my loan in 2023 (age 55) by myself and it's predicted to be paid off in another 21 yrs time at current repayments (2046 when I'll be 78). With luck I'm retired from work by age 70 and potentially (if legal at the time) look to pay out the remainder of the loan to get rid of it.
