Can't think of a single happy couple /family who got together to preserve or accumulate more wealth

Yet it is still common in certain circles.

The classic nuclear family is almost a thing of the past in places around the West, as more and more children are virtually left to their own devices and parenting habits are increasingly becoming secondary in their lives.

@Ximenajacoba Children are virtually left to their own devices and parenting habits are increasingly becoming secondary in their lives in classic nuclear families as well.

It's almost like the problem isn't the structure of said family, but the fact that people are overworked and can barely afford survival with two salaries.

@Elessar I totally agree, commercialism and capitalism are bad friends

I think Warren Buffet has been married for about...60 million years.

@Longpatrol He has been married since 2006. The first one passed away. Staying married and being happy are unfortunately two different things.

@Miram true

Does seem odd and believable at the same time that that rarely comes to be.

I can't either.
That's why marrying for wealth is a bad idea

I don't know any families like that, not quite my class.
