Florida in an Insurance Crisis

I have been paying 4800 per year for my homeowners with large deductibles. I received my renewal for 9899 per year. I received a Citizens' quote for 5640 today. I can pay that all in one lump sum. Or lower my coverage. Pretty upset over this.

Florida has high insurance because of hurricanes knocking off roofs, no? In California, outside of the woodsy areas, insurance is pretty cheap. But earthquake damage is not covered.

@graphite there are other reasons too. Florida is very litigious and we have lots of fraud down here

@graphitemostly illegals down here. i don't know how they are getting these fancy cars either

@akindheart I donated a car and nearly two years later, received a notice that it had been illegally parked somewhere. Apparently who had it never registered it so they sent the notice to the last legal owner. Makes me wonder who it was donated to.

@graphite they didn't want to pay for insurance or to register it i guess
