I Despise Greedy Insurance Companies

Two US residents who received treatment for coronavirus received bills exceeding three thousand even though they don’t have coronavirus.The patient is non infected but that is the staggering costs for hospital visits and other tests.
It’s a problem for the 27 million Americans without insurance, as well as insured Americans who face surprise billing or out-of-network charges.How come goverment still allow private hospital and heathcare industry to priotise make ridiculous profit margin out of this coronavirus pendemic?could possibly lead to a rise in US bankruptcy cases.

Have you any clue as to what it costs to provide health care? The costs of a very new lab test? They have to keep the lights on, they have to feed the patients, and they have to provide the best care possible...none of that is free, cheap , or easy. You can , I guess, just choose to self treat if you don't think your life is worth some investment.

@TexChik these poor people cant afford insurance and caught infected not by choice.Most of the phamaceutical industry abuse law by endlessly renewing their intelectual property right on the drug their invent even though already break even and make hefty profit from their R&D cost.

@UsernameAlreadyInUse business isn't about breaking even. For drug companies to continue to innovate and find new medicines, there has to be motivation and compensation. Many choose not to have insurance , some don't have a job. That is not the hospital's fault, Nor should they be required to pay for it
@UsernameAlreadyInUse

The solution is simple, the pharmaceutical companies can discontinue inventing and making medicine and put their capital to better use making other things and for other countries.

Thus, no longer would we have to worry about high priced medicine ... there would be none ... and the patients would neither have to concern themselves with high Bills or have a reason to go to the hospital

@questionWeaver yes, they can just die rather than suffer the outrage of actually being responsible for their own well being.

@TexChik maybe youre right,but watching these poor uninsured people rather died from infection than carried heavy debt over medical bill makes me think something is so wrong.

@UsernameAlreadyInUse There is, its the liberal indoctrination in our schools . Kids are taught America is wrong and that someone else should be in charge of taking care of them ( big government)… instead of being taught that its on them and that if they want to have a happy, healthy , prosperous life then its on them to make it happen. Nobody gives you anything, you have to earn it. And in this case you are seeing just how miserably the lib system of indoctrinating people has failed them. If people didn't have their wits about them through out our history, none of us would be here. There is never a guarantee of anything, only the unlimited possibilities freedom provides. Its up to individuals to get busy making it happen.
@UsernameAlreadyInUse

Very few of these people actually pay those Bill's... so ... does it make a difference if they are charged $3000 or $30,000 or $300,000?
UsernameAlreadyInUse · 26-30, M
@TexChik Phamaceutical businese need profit to stay innavate,fair enough we need to paid for what we get.Lack of financial planning put an individual into debt pit hole is their own life choice,but for this pendemic the money became another hurdle for infected patient to seek treatment.
Heathcare system should not be free but atleast in this dire strait of pendemic they should make exceptional case for cod-19 test kit.
@UsernameAlreadyInUse EVERY physician can order a test free

If the individual wants a test the doctor does not believe is necessary, they can get it ... but they pay the $100+ price

@UsernameAlreadyInUse that’s no different than not buying homeowners insurance and a tornado strikes your home . While tragic no one else should foot the costs to replace or repair the home because of the risk the owner took By not having insurance.
UsernameAlreadyInUse · 26-30, M
@TexChik in that case the only the victim themself suffer the loss due to their own fault.This virus outbreak is so contagious they need to contain it from spreading instead of prioritize heathcare industry profit.
TexChik · F
@UsernameAlreadyInUse they are containing it as best as can be . Should the contractors who repair the house hit by the tornado not get paid ? Health care workers are no different
