Shrug….it is all I’ve ever known. My dad was disabled when I was very young and unable to work. So I worked. I’ve never stopped working…and it feels like it’s been my life to support others.

The joy comes from not struggling with the basics later on down the road.
I was the opposite and it was also joyless. I think that’s how being that age goes.

You are going to hate me for this. But the moment I saw your post, this quote by Jack Nicholson from "As good as it gets" popped into my mind,.
" How do you write women so well?
" I think of a man, and I take away reason and accountability."😷

I agree. That's why I always called daddy to the phone when mom answered.
