Ever since I gave my little brother space, he’s been coming to me.
I think I was being too much before? But I was chasing after the bond we used to have while he’d get all mean and yell at me to get away from him 😔
I just thought maybe he needed to be shown that he’s loved even if he is being a little mean brat?
Eventually him pushing me away started to take its toll to the point that I no longer came home from work to enthusiastically greet him, I would just not say anything to him at all because even a “hey, how was school” annoyed him. And it annoyed me that he was bothered by me asking? I care about your life, stupid.
I stopped trying all together. I was convinced that maybe he was growing up and I’d have to accept that. Even though he’s only 7?! Like excuse me. Don’t they usually get this way in their teens? Kids nowadays start early.
But now he’s suddenly a lot sweeter, wants my attention, will even give me a hug without getting angry at me for asking. It’s a miracle.
lol moral of the story is that space is important. And I’m glad I have my baby back.
