I might switch banks. What do you think?

There's this bank I've had since 1996, we'll call it BANK A. I'm also with a credit union bank, we'll call that one BANK C. BANK A charges you a $3.00 fee for each time you withdraw money from a non BANK A, ATM machine. BANK C gives you 3 free withdraws from a non BANK C ATM every month, and charges you $1.50 for each withdraw after the 3 free withdraws.

Both banks have the same amount of branch locations. BANK A does have one more location than BANK C, but I never go there because of how it's situated along the road, it's very hard to get in and out of. There's a deal BANK A made with a local gas station mini-mart, and these mini-marts have the BANK A ATM machines inside. Well, the mini-marts aren't keeping their side of the deal, which is to maintain the ATM's, so BANK A is pulling their ATM machines out from these mini-marts meaning, I have to go to the bank branch to withdraw money to not be charged.

I'm thinking of just switching to BANK C and being done with BANK A. BANK C is a credit union, BANK A isn't, and BANK C gives you 3 free withdraws per month and then charges you less on withdraws from non BANK C ATM machines.

What do you think? I'm leaning heavily toward going with BANK C.

Thanks.

Credit unions are safer because they don’t do derivatives like other financial institutions do.

Make sure it is FDIC insured…
@therighttothink50 Not sure what derivatives are, but this credit union is NCUA insured. I was reading about it online, apparently NCUA is the same equivalent of FDIC, they're both federally insured. One thing I found online says:

What is the difference between FDIC and NCUA? The biggest difference regarding FDIC vs. NCUA is the customers they protect. The FDIC insures deposits for bank customers while the NCUA insures deposits for credit union members.

But I thought only FDIC existed?

Just deal with the fee
@NativePortlander1970 $3.00 fee every single time? Today I called them and was refunded over $20.00 in fees. I think I have to make a conscious decision and move on.
@twiigss Or just use the debit option at the store and don't charged extra.
