Would you rob a bank for a million dollars if you knew, without a doubt, you would get away with it?

@TryingtoLava naw they track that. Especially now with Biden. They will ask where I got that money.
@empanadas sooo what? We cant use swiss banks anemore? Theres no point robbing a bank just do it digitally
empanadas31-35, M
@TryingtoLava no thanks Obama. The foreign bank account reporting. If you don't file how you got that money in the foreign bank, you will get fined 10k to 100k. Also have the American tax police after you. The USA is super strict with it's citizens when it comes to foreign banks and investments
@empanadas Thank organized crime. No doubt that鈥檚 why things tightened up.
@empanadas hahah ya so itd havta be digitally or ideally just rob n00b crypto investors with send 1 ETH ill send 2 back in 2 days
empanadas31-35, M
@TryingtoLava yeah, basically. Crypto needs regulation

@bijouxbroussard its a double edged sword. It's great for organized crime. Horrible for people trying to live outside of the USA. It's something not very well known or advertised. So normal people get slapped in the face with a 100k fine.
@empanadas longggg way from that
@empanadas Those penalties came about from them going after organized crime, who continue to find more ways around it. If you want to live abroad permanently without the U.S. demanding you report your income every year, you basically have to renounce your citizenship.
empanadas31-35, M
@bijouxbroussard yeah, I understand why it was created. In order to kill a greater, sometimes you have to over look the smaller things. Just renouncing your citizenship isn't as easy as it seem. If you have family in the usa and you get a passport from another country, they can even ban you from having a visa to enter the usa. If they suspect you denounced because of taxes. I just wish it was made more common knowledge about the fines. USA is the one of two countries that taxes it's citizens just because they are citizens. Eritrea used to tax it's citizens like the usa but EU and countries basically bullied/shamed them. However the USA does the same if not worse. It is what it is basically.
