FYI - They don't accept houses as payment.

Oh, and don't forget the ambulance ride to the Emergency Room - $14,500 (and you're not even conscious to enjoy the ride).

What gets me is the charge of $16,000 just to "see" the ER doctor for 15 seconds - just long enough for him to mutter, "you're fine, but we still need to run more tests", in some foreign language (an interpreter will cost you another $12,000).

Of course they have to jack up the prices. How else could they afford that 55" TV in the waiting room at Emergency ... that only shows the Food Network (with no volume).

@shuhak I am old enough to remember when hospitals were basic and bills much lower. No fancy interiors etc.
