I do a food pantry run every Friday, fill up my car with food, and bring it back to my apartment building. I have about 6 volunteers, off and on, who help me to unload my car and set the food out in the community room, and put it in the fridge or freezer, and then we allow our neighbors to come in and shop once we have set everything up.
We have not had MEAT at the food pantry, or for my neighbors to take, for more than TWO months. So I would buy meat every week, using that money...and that way my neighbors would at least have a little bit of protein.
