I’m so sorry you had that happen. I hope you’ll be ok
KallieGB · 26-30, F
@skmokisses I’m sure you will
Paddler123 · 61-69, M
@skmokisses It looks like you have a great attitude about all of this, and that helps a lot in moving forward. I've been through this a couple of times and, each time, emerged with something new, different and better in various ways. I learned a few things along the way. First, when you trip, fall forward...forward is the direction you will need to go. Also, having a generally positive and optimistic attitude shines through. I think that in general, people sense whether or not you are positive and optimistic, or negative, and that impacts on how they react to you. I also looked at losing a job as a first step in starting a new adventure, and it always turned out that way. I went on to do new and exciting things that were never part of the original career plan, and it's all been wonderful.

@Paddler123 That is how I am choosing to view this as, a blessing, an adventure into something bigger and better 😌

It definitely won't take you long to find another job the way you brighten up a room with your presence 😊 and who ever let you get away is definitely their loss. Keep smiling 😊
justlooking2023 · 56-60, M
i'm sorry about that :( 14 years without warning is pretty low and uncaring. Keep the faith.

That’s tragic to hear, it really blows a hole in our lives. Hoping you’re able to get another position quickly.
Levenrack · 46-50, M
Wow yeah same here on 7/1, due to redundancy and cut backs. Though not as long as you were there, but still a surprise nonetheless.

Good Luck to you.
skmokisses · 46-50, F

Skmo!!! Say it ain’t so! I’m so sorry my friend. I’ll keep the coffee on all morning until you land that next gig.

Whew! Sorry to hear that! Companies are brutal these days, your advice is spot on!
That is an excellent point, although in these challenging times it may be hard to have that emergency nest egg built up. It totally sucks to lose your job with no warning whatsoever.... No wonder many people are looking over their shoulder waiting for the shoe to drop....
OldBrit · 61-69, M

Sound advice. Life can, and does change in an instant. The better prepared you are, the easier it is to navigate. That does suck though. Hope something even better comes along for you soon. 🤗
