Are you old enough to remember when “convenient banking” involved vacuum tubes?

Still use them at the local hospital.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Wow! I haven’t seen an active vacuum tube since the IBM plant I worked at was closed in 1999!

Plenty old enough, for sure. It hasn't been that long since most banks stopped having those here, though. I remember still using them within the last 10 years.

@Piper Oh wow! I haven’t seen one since the mid 90s when I left Arkansas. Since landing I California in 1996, I haven’t seen a single vacuum tube system, aside from the one used for internal communications at the IBM plant in San Jose that was closed in 1999.

Yes but I don’t do that kind of banking anymore.
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
@Monday40 I’m not surprised! Finding a bank with a drive thru teller can’t be too easy these days 😂
Monday40 · 51-55, F
@Zaphod42 almost everything I do is direct deposit or direct payment. I usually have delivery on things.
Iwillwait · M
Yes. Still does in our parts.
Azlotto · M
Still use them here.
Azlotto · M
@Zaphod42 The banks that have drive-throughs.
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
@Azlotto Not quite what I meant, but ok 😂
Azlotto · M
@Zaphod42 Well I guess I got confused because I always think of "vacuum tubes" as these" :
