Is a long term world champion good for WWE RE: Roman Reigns 3 year reign?

I think having a more then long enough champion makes the WWE unwatchable at times. I wonder how fans back then feeled about Hogans 4 year reign or Brunos 7 year reign? Difference was they were both faces while Reigns is a heel and rarely wins clean and always needs help from the Usos or Solo Sioka.
