Is someone that has never been in a physical fight or running away a coward?

I’ve never been into a fight. I’ve had arguments but not a physical one. I’ve heard stories from some relatives and they’ve gotten into fights. My sister got into a fight, my brother got into a fight and my late parents did but only to defend for themselves. When I hear these stories I feel bad and left out because I never once been in a fight.My family doesn’t believe that I will defend for myself or fight because they know how nice I am and I’m way too easy going that I let people take advantage and also let people push me around and no adult should ever let it happen. They don’t believe me when I said I will fight. They just laughed. One of my cousins said, “You can’t even fight to save your life! You don’t have the hands for it. Truth is, you’re weak and no wonder your dad is disappointed that you’re the nice softies that lets people push her around.” That hurt

Fighting is the last resort.There is nothing wrong with running away and in many situations is the best choice.
You can be assertive in a verbal confrontation.Learning self defence is a good thing.Even if you never need to use your training.It is better to have something you don't need that not have something you do need.

It is a good idea to learn how to defend yourself, whether that means a self-defense class or doing a martial art is up to you, but I think it is a good idea. :-)

Physical violence against others is never the answer and leaving a confrontation before it’s escalated does not mean cowardice.

The cowardice comes in if you dont try to defend yourself or your family once you are physically attacked
