The Hobbit

I been watching The Hobbit for a couple of days and I been really enjoying it. It's brilliant. I know some say that Lord Of The Rings story was better and all but this is still the same director and cast and I think it's nice to see more of the original story. I really love the vibes and the adventures and all the New Zealandan nature which is absolutely brilliant. The soundtrack as well.

Next I'm going to see the new series.

I prefer LOTR, I think the problem with the hobbit is how they dragged it out to make money. LOTR is 3 books so made into three movies works. The hobbit is one book and they dragged it out in 3 movies. I also think the storyline just isn’t as good, but I still enjoy watching it occasionally

The Hoppit?
That movie was awful.. I couldn't stand it.. walked out of the theater..
I'm a die hard Tolkien fan and they really butchered the story and for no good reason..

But hey, I'm glad you got something out of it
@PiecingBabyFaceTogether
So many parts were changed from the book and even the disposition of the characters was markedly different..
The only part I liked was the battle of five armies and even then.. only the battle itself
@Onestarlitnight I didn't read any of the books.

You should definitely read the books.
You can read them online for free.

Too bad he passed away before he could sell the rights to 'house of the hobbit" to HBO for a mini series. No dragons, of course, but lots of dark magic and barefoot fetishism
I recommend reading the books somewhere in your Tolkien- based entertainment process.

They spun it out a bit but I still enjoyed it

the new series is terrible, the hobbit was always good to me and the lord of the rings i've never seen.
So i am a bit divided, i love the LOTR books and was very frustrated that the books condensed the books so much....i never got over them omitting Tom Bombadil

Whereas The Hobbit could have been condensed into 2 films.

Both had epic battle scenes.

But none of the films are a patch on the books
