I Like People Who Take Off Their Shoes Before Entering A Home

This tells me that they are polite and well brought up
My partners kids automatically take their shoes off and put slippers on. She wont have barefeet on the carpets.

I find it a bit extreme.
A house is a home (esp with kids) not some precious display...
First world problem 🤷🏻‍♀️

No bare feet?
Carpet feels awesome on feet, that's why It was invented.
I'm not wearing slippers anywhere anytime on a 38c day.

I guess it's a way to train children not to ever track mud all over the house...

Yes, if your shoes are dirty take them off. If your shoes will damage floors or carpets then take them off.
But everyone? All the time?

I think it's unnecessary & a bit anal.

depends where you live. Its never been 38 here. Todays its minus 5. Last summer saw very little sun.
Our wooden floors are cold all year round. At present they are absolutely freezing. Polished floors are very dangerous in socks. So that leaves bare feet or slippers.
I wear sandals all summer and never with socks. As we live in the country my feet are filthy when i take them off. I change into an old pair of slippers and wash my feet.
To be honest, wearing shoes in the house seems weird and unnecessary to me. When visiting, I have been told I don't need to take them off but i still do it. Its a habit and its comfortable.
We all have our comfort zones. Many of them are in our heads.

I was brought up like that but I always hated slippers as a kid. In winter I wear slippers but not when its warm.

I draw the line though at guest slippers. No way i am wearing them

Eww, yeah, other people have wore them.

Terrible habit. I traveled a lot in Eastern Europe and they had guest slippers. I just took my own to wear.

People can leave their shoes on at our house, unless they are wet or full of snow, then we would like them off.

I have an Asian friend who thinks otherwise, and when I visit her house, my shoes come off. I have no problem doing this - her house, her rules.
I never enter houses with my shoes on tbh. It's rude.

well i enter but remove shoes once inside

We have an area for taking off shoes in the entrance area. But as we live in a rural area, boots can be very muddy so they get left outside the door to dry out.
