I Never Wear Shoes In the House

Strictly no shoes in my house for any visitors and strictly bare feet for me and my children in the home. This is how it’s always been, I hated the idea of the kids wearing socks inside and ruining them when bare feet are perfectly fine.

It’s striclty no shoes in our home too, something my daughters sometimes struggle to remember.

@markdaniels Nothing a swift slap on the back of the legs doesn’t sort out.

@KarenMum they’ve occasionally trapsed mud in through the house.

@markdaniels I hated my son doing that! Just another reason for shoes and socks off at the door.

@KarenMum why socks?
KarenMum · 51-55, F
@markdaniels Why not? They end up coming off eventually and I became sick and tired of tripping up over them around the house or going on a sock scavenger hunt everytime I did the laundry.

@KarenMum that’s a good point

@markdaniels So will you introduce a barefoot rule for your kids?
markdaniels · 41-45, M
I’m not sure that is necessary
KarenMum · 51-55, F
@markdaniels Not fed up of boiling white socks or collecting socks from about the house? Plus if you did it would be healthier for their feet.

I think they look pretty in their white socks
KarenMum · 51-55, F
@markdaniels That they do 😊
markdaniels · 41-45, M
But what you say makes sense

@markdaniels Spring is coming a perfect time to introduce the rule.
