Tell me the deeper meaning behind any of your tattoos 💉
Because I feel like sharing mine so let's make it a thing 🙏
When people ask me, I usually give a basic answer to avoid my life story. But there's deep reasons behind each one.
My first tattoo was "Memento Mori". It means 'Remember that we must die". An old Roman saying. I got it because I felt like I was chasing death at the time. Basically calling it out, daring it to take me. But it also served as a reminder to do wtf I want in life because we can die at any moment. Later I had the idea to add a broken Roman clock to it, to symbolize time fading away.
The day I added the clock, I also added prayer hands, but holding up a middle finger with a thorned rose in it's hand. Underneath I got a quote I made up saying "just wait, it'll wither". To me, that meant everything beautiful, will die. Life, love, everything.
Then here's my right side neck tatt. It's a tree of life, but half dead. Another symbolization of death & how temporary life is
Then there's my underarm tatt. Which is a Mac Miller quote (I have multiple Mac-inspired tatts because he was my favorite artist 🙏 RIP)
"Things like this ain't built to last, I just might fade like those before me" You guessed it, another death tattoo. If you notice a trend it's because one half of my body will be dedicated to death, while the other is dedicated to life. But so far most are all on the death side, because that's where I felt closest to for so long.
Then last, here's the lotus flower on my left side of my neck.
It looks different than the typical lotus symbols because I wanted it to. It's more than just a symbol to me. This one I got because it was based on my suicide attempt. I should've died but I didn't. & Eventually I chose life. I decided that I killed off who I used to be & I've been reborn (spiritually). So the flower symbolizes death.. but also life. The first of all my life-based tattoos. There are still no others yet.
That's not all my tattoos of course. Those are simply the ones that mean the most to me 🙏 sorry for the length (none of these pics are from NOW btw, & some were taken when it was barely finished 😅)
Now if you even finished all this, tell me about yours 😌 all, some, one. Any one you'd like to. I always love tattoo talk

When I was about 23-25 I took an old walkman tape player apart and made a jailhouse tattoo gun using an electric guitar string for a needle. First I put a question mark on my left arm. The meaning was to question everything.
Then I got the big idea to have a buddy put a huge dragon on my chest. I chose a Wavern. Mostly because it was a cool picture. LOL But then I looked up the meaning behind it and found this:
"Because of their use in war and battle-related materials, they are known to some as symbols of courage and strength. Others may see the wyvern tattoo as a symbol of protection. In contrast to these noble qualities, the wyvern tattoos can be associated with vengeance and the concept of "slaying one's dragons."
@Dainbramadge lmao my dad told me all about how to make those jailhouse tattoo guns with the little motor & guitar string 😅 I never made one myself but he used to do it as a kid to tattoo himself & his friends. But nice man, those are neat tattoos 👌 & even though you didn't know the meaning behind one of them at first, you found meaning eventually so that's dope 😌 I don't think all tattoos need meaning tbh.. but it's cool to have in case anybody ever asks
