I Have Tattoos
I have two tattoos at this point and still intend to get several more. It is always just a bit of a process to choose the right tattoo for the right spot.
I know that many people and cultures are against tattoos, as they see it as desecrating your body. I understand that to some extent, but then again, every body belongs to itself - thus those opinions have no bearing on me.
Choosing the tattoo is always the hardest part; as you are choosing something to be permanently inked onto your flesh - the wrong decision can instantly turn to buyers' remorse. I, however, have no such regrets. Both my tattoos were specifically chosen because they are of significance to me and their significance or relevance will never wane... Thus they deserve their spot on my body.
If our scars are how we carry our past experiences along with us, why cant we do the same with tattoos? See them as a celebration of the past and all the events that lead up to this point in life? A homage to the things that kept you going all along? A testament to where you come from and where you have been...
Thats what I see mine as, and I am proud to wear them on my body, as they represent the reason why my body is still alive and kicking it right now.
