School Uniforms

On our local news a school punished a 13 year old boy for wearing shorts . No I am not joking . The temperatures are up in the middle 20s degrees C for uk that is hot . Its summer for christ sake . The father complained and rightly so . I know they have a uniform but girls can wear skirts but boys cant wear shorts , where is the fairness . How do others feel about this ? If it was your boy how would you feel . If it had been my boy or grandson I would be all over the school .

Pretty sure I read this.Was he wearing the same shorts as for sports at the school?He got sent home to change.
When I was in high school the boys had to wear uniform but us girls didn't.We were asked to wear skirts no shorter than just above the knee.Some vote taken back in the day.So in good weather I wore shorts a lot.and often left my feet bare ,no teachers bothered at all.When I took my exams I wore shorts with bare feet.A more common sense school environment back then.
