This was the last Christmas gift I made for my mother…
an afghan in Christmas colors. She was delighted with it, and took it with her to the care facility where she spent her last months. When I first visited, she made sure I saw that it was on the bed in her room.
After the funeral, Pop made certain that we retrieved it later when we were gathering her belongings from the facility.
He keeps it on his bed now. He told me that this, and the bracelet I gave her for her birthday earlier that year, became her most prized possessions. She rests wearing the bracelet and her wedding ring.
