I Am A Man And I Can Walk In High Heels Better Than Some Women

I think better than most women, not just some, as most women have no clue how to walk properly in heels. You see them floundering around, knees bent, like drunken ducks. However, I love to see someone walking confidently and smoothly in heels - a wonderful sight, perhaps more so as it's so rare!

Just observation. I think what you say about women not thinking about it is true, as there's no social stigma against you wearing heels. Perhaps we male wearers make more conscious effort NOT to look like that, and possibly we are keener on it so make more effort and practise more. You would never get a male heel addict complaining about his feet hurting, for instance. In my case, heels are much more comfortable for me as they are a miraculous cure for the backache I get if I stand or walk around for more than a few minutes.

SimplyTracie - Just be thankful you have a choice, with no one laughing at you for wanting to exercise fashion freedom. I wear heels under long jeans, so when I'm standing no one can see them, but of course when I walk people can see them. I wear them most days, and no one has ever commented (a bit disappointing really!), but if I teamed them with shorts I might get a few more odd looks, sniggers, etc. I wear heels to business meetings and conferences as well as at home and round the shops. I travelled to one conference on the train, in 4.5 inch wedge heels, spent the whole day in them with about 5000 people around, and travelled back. Loads of people must have seen them but no one commented. However, if I'd worn stilettos it might have been different!

xal123 That's the point. Women have the free choice to wear almost anything they like: heels, flats, skirts, trousers, dresses, nylons, bare legs. They also have a far greater range of colours and materials - if we men deviate at all from the narrow norms of society we're regarded as freaks, gay, etc. (an insult to gays, BTW!). I'm lucky being in the UK as I know a lot of societies are far less tolerant so far as men are concerned.

Michael >> I think you're right. I'm more of a flat sandals from the mall to the beach girl.

I think it takes practice to walk in heels. Women don't really think about it so we put in our heels and go out. The persons you are referring to as 'ducks' are probably women that only wear heels in occasion. There are women, like myself, that wear heels 6 days a week and end up walking funny in athletic shoes because we are so used to heels. ;)

SimplyTracie - That's true. My wife is comfortable accompanying me when I'm in boots but doesn't like other styles on me, which is a bit of a problem in warmer weather such as we're getting now! I need to sit her down and ask exactly what styles she prefers... She doesn't like HH sneakers, she doesn't like Oxfords, she thinks courts (pumps) are too feminine...
Fungirlmmm · 51-55, F
That is true... None of my cross dressing friends here ever complain about their shoes pinching them.

I love my Chucks btw, but it takes me awhile to get used to The posture change.

Speaking of posture. Men usually stand taller when they walk so theirchrrl strike is different than women. (one of my jobs to earn money for college was as a show salesperson.)

Actually, I absolutely loathe sneakers! I don't possess any apart from ones with 4 inch heels... I also loathe knee-length shorts, which often look as though they are about to lose their struggle with gravity, and boxers. My choice! I know I'm in a minority. I wear short shorts and Speedo swimming trunks. Vive la différence...

I'm more of a Chuck Taylor type girl

SimplyTracie - how funny, I must have changed my photo seconds after you commented. The style is not my ideal but not so overtly feminine as thinner heels/straps.

xal123 I'm in a small town but fortunately most people are tolerant. I know some say they wouldn't dare wear anything remotely adventurous near home.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
Michael >> I don't think people really care. I think guys can get away more so with boot style heels especially with jeans. What you think?
PlumBerries · 31-35, F
Not a fan of heels. I'm clumsy at the best of times, don't need heels to add to that.. though I only wear them on dates so I look taller
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
Nice collection in your photo. I wouldn't be surprised if you're right. I don't really like wearing heels.

So I walked about half a mile in my 5.5 inch stilettos on a country path on Friday evening. No problem.

I don't know where you live ...
but heels are an integral part of women's wardrobe...

PlumBerries >> I work at a fast food restaurant so sneakers works for me. :)
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
xal132 >> I live in Hawaii. I'll wear wedges to dinner or something but it's not everyday.

the heel lengthens the leg of a woman ...
a woman looks more slender
Darina · F
of course it all depends on the place where I live...
I live in a big city ...

Men really do have the short end of the stick fashion wise.

PlumBerries >> YAY!
