hm I'm not sure I have ever done that as such, but certainly I have been given and I have gave clothes that are in good condition but I wouldn't wear... Sounds like fun! :)

Never done it with friends, I don't have many and none of them would wear my clothes nor I theirs. But in early December 2025 the nearest IKEA to me organized one. I took four items and found two that I liked.

No, being a smelly troll for many years taught me to not trust other clothes even if they are washed. 🙈 I'd swap a scarf, maybe a coat but not stuff that had direct contact with the body, especially armpits. I know that most people don't have this problem and I have some T-shirts after some family members but you can never know with strangers.
